In this weeks podcast our hosts, Zakeer and Mukoma speak to Mrs Pretorius (educator in charge of the talent show) and some of the participants about what spectators can expect from the upcoming talent show on the 4th of October. She explains what criteria they will be judged on and what prizes they can look forward to. The participants explain their reasons for auditioning and what they are most looking forward to on the night.
We are planning the official launch date of our new Hatties' library on 23 April 2020 (National Book day).
In order for us to establish our very own library at school, WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! If there might be any learners, parents, or stakeholders who would like to donate any newspapers, magazines or books that you no longer use, we would be immensely grateful. Any other donations such as bookshelves, financial contributions, posters, etc) are also most welcome!
The profit made from our upcoming talent show this year will also go towards the establishment of our new Hattie library.

Singing, dancing, rapping, and playing musical instruments, drawing and magic, my oh my, what a night… A variety talent show took centre stage at Bellville Technical High School on 25 May 2018.
The judges of the evening were: Hip hop artist and teacher Tashwin Classen, who opened the show with and excellent performance of hip hop dancing. The famous actress Crystal – Donna Robertson, the upcoming actor and an ex-student of Bellville THS, Enrico Hartzenberg and Anemie Rademeyer, a music teacher.
The master of ceremony, Conner Cupido, skilfully entertained the audience throughout the evening. This successful event was coordinated by Ms Koopman, Mrs Pretorius and Ms Borain. Curtley Fortuin in grade 11, walked away with the winning price after his brilliant singing performance. Asithandile Dyonase in grade 9 won second prize with her lovely song and the talented magician, Mlungisi Mtwebana in grade 10 mesmerized the audience with his magic skills and won the third prize.
This show will certainly be the start of a new tradition at Bellville THS, focussing not only on our cultural pride, but providing a platform for our young artists of the future.
