Our school is a Technical Focus School - this means that our goal is to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
Our staff consists of highly qualified academic and expert technical educators most with a background in industry. Our educators are passionate, and attempt to the utmost of their abilities to make every lesson interesting and to cater for every learner's needs.
Bellville Technical High School boasts a staff of 53 with a learner to staff ratio of 24 to 1 - which is just over half the national norm.
Specialised classes are small and individual attention is given to every learner in our technical subjects.
The result of our educators' dedication is that our learners regularly ranks in the NSC Top 10 of the WCED in technical subjects and that we have a 99% pass rate in these subjects for the past 20 years.
Our leraners are allowed to develop confidence through a variety of cultural activities. Through the media team, grade 8 concert, talent show, Mr and Mrs Hattie competition, chess, Spelling Bee, poetry evening, choir and art & crafts they learn interdependence, expression and ultimately to relate to the external world in a creative manner.
At Bellville Technical High School we focus on regular and rigorous work routines to find ways to encourage our learners to maintain a good work ethic and work with dedication and pride. We commit to teaching at a standard of difficulty to encourage our learners to achieve results that refect their abilities.
Our disciplinary system, rather than punishing, strives to assist our learners to increase their academic performance.
A wide range of sport is offered in both winter and summer. The school participates in numerous tournaments as well as local leagues. Our learners regularly excels in athletics, cross-country, rugby and cricket.
Although competing is important, the aim on the field is to promote the personal qualities of fair play, tolerance, teamwork, commitment and self-esteem.
We have excellent sporting facilities: Indoor cricket nets, rugby fields, hockey field, soccer field, cricket, netball courts and a very popular cross-country track.
